Job Description Summary:
As a Quality Control Inspector you will work directly for the Quality Control Manager and perform Quality Control duties related to the contract Performance of Work Statement. You will inspect, evaluate, document and report on performance standards and workmanship for all basic services for the Kaiserslautern Military Community Family Housing Maintenance Program. To include but not limited to; Change of Occupancy (COM) Maintenance, Recurring Work Program (RWP), Direct Scheduled Work (DSW), Outdoor Recreation Area Program (ORA) and Self Help Store inspections for housing units located at Ramstein AFB, Vogelweh AFB and Landstuhl Army Base and perform other duties as assigned. You will conduct inspections and perform limited labor associated with findings. Distribution of workload. Office 10%, Field 90% KMC AOR - Physical labor 20%.
Requirements:
• Attention to detail
• Basic aptitude for carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, cleaning, etc..
• Accurately Document results of inspections
• Evaluate Problems and make initial recommendations for corrective actions
• Complete inspection assignments in an accurate and timely manner
• Work independently with limited supervision
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus
• German Work Permit
• German Police Background Check - No Entry
• Must effectively communicate quality findings to Sub Contractors and Tradesmen
• Maintain a valid German and or USAREUR Drivers License
• Personally Owned Vehicle
• Basic Computer Knowledge
• General proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Perform handyman-type functions in addition to quality inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, and walk.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education: High School Graduate, GED, Trade School and or Vocational School Diploma
Recommended: Experience as a Craftsman (Carpenter, Plumber, Electrician, Painter and or Handyman experience.
Recommended Experience: 2+ years of Quality Control, Tradesman, Military Veteran, or Commercial housing maintenance experience.
Language Level, intermediate German: spoken & written (inspection documents are written in German and internal communications are in German)
Language Level, advanced English: spoken & written (inspection documents are written in English and US government communication are in English)
